Atomic Falls is committed to providing a safe and fun environment for all attendees.  Please familiarize yourself with the R.A.D.S. (Regulations, Accountability, Dystopia, Society).  R.A.D.S. is our Code of Conduct and a commitment from each of us to our fellow attendees.  Always remember:  You are responsible for reading and understanding the RADS Code of Conduct.

Regulations

I understand that I must abide by the regulations governing Atomic Falls at all times.

  • You are responsible for reading and understanding the RADS Code of Conduct and educating yourself about any applicable state or federal laws. If you have any questions about anything in the RADS Code of Conduct, please contact us and we will do our best to answer your questions or put you in touch with useful resources.

  • All participants at Atomic Falls must be at least 21 years old to attend. There are no exceptions to this rule. You must show a valid ID upon check in at the gates to have your ticket released, including transfer tickets.

  • No pets are allowed at this event

    • Service animals, as defined under Title II and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, are welcome but we ask that you please contact us so we can help you plan for appropriate waste control and other long-term camping needs.

    • You must clean up after your animal. This is a leave no trace event, and animal feces is included in this policy.

    • Atomic Falls is a primitive camping environment with very active native wildlife. The event bears no responsibility for the safety of your service animal.

  • Absolutely no firearms are permitted at Atomic Falls

    • Real firearms cannot be used as a part of your costume under any circumstances. This includes unloaded or modified firearms.

    • Failure to comply with this rule will result in immediate expulsion from Atomic Falls.

    • Event Staff reserves the right to inspect any weapons at any time, and their determinations are final. This ensures the safety of all our participants.

    • Prop firearm weapons are welcome at the event. Prop weapons built using Airsoft or paintball guns as bases are allowed, but they must be obviously unloaded and/or inoperable. Do not bring Airsoft, paintball, or any other type of ammunition to the event. Nerf or equivalent toy foam dart type weapons are an exception during designated Nerf activities. Nerf ammunition falls under the leave-no-trace policy. Prop weapons may NOT be built on a real firearm base, even if the original weapon has now been rendered inoperable.

    • If you are uncertain if your prop weapon meets our guidelines, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss it before the event.

  • Crimes in the real world are crimes at Atomic Falls

    • This includes, but is certainly not limited to, vandalism, theft, assault, harassment, and reckless endangerment of another person’s safety.

    • Regarding sexual harassment, always err on the side of safety and consent. Costuming, however revealing, is NOT consent. Beyond normal social contact, do not put your hands on anyone, of any gender, who has not invited that kind of interaction and stop immediately when told. No justification is required by the person instructing you to stop.  Event Staff will address sexual harassment quickly and decisively.

    • Event Staff will be available at all times to assist with situations as they arise. Please do not hesitate to make us aware of problems before they devolve. We will do our best to intervene discreetly and keep everyone on track for a great time. However, dangerous or destructive behaviors will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion from Atomic Falls and involvement with local law enforcement as necessary.

    • If Event Staff gives you an order, comply immediately and discuss the situation later if necessary.

  • Respect all posted boundaries and safety signs, including but not limited to restricted structures, restricted buildings, restricted roadways, property boundaries, etc.

Accountability

I understand that I am accountable for myself, my actions, and my experience at Atomic Falls.

  • Atomic Falls is a radically self-reliant event. This means you are responsible for providing for all your needs during the entire weekend

    • All external resources, including food, water, shelter, tools, fuel, etc., that you will need should be brought with you to the event. Do not rely on others to provide for you. This is essentially a wilderness camping trip and should be packed for accordingly. Don't be a "RAD-roach."

    • As an important reminder, there is water available on site, but guests should expect to bring their own personal drinking water. Please be mindful of your needs and bring enough clean water to keep yourself hydrated and safe.

    • Providing your own internal resources is also key to a successful event. Be aware and in control of your experience so that you do not push that responsibility unwillingly onto the tribe. If you become out of control in a way that is dangerous or an undue disturbance to yourself or others, you may be redirected to a more controlled environment for the safety of everyone.

  • Vehicles, including art cars, street cars, RVs, and smaller vehicles, must remain in permitted areas as defined by city planning

    • Since Atomic Falls is an immersive wasteland experience, vehicles without wasteland décor will be required to remain parked away from the downtown area.

    • Vehicles must be operated safely (as determined by our Event Staff) at all times.

  • Campfires will be permitted in designated areas or in approved containers

    • Never leave a campfire unattended for any reason.

    • Fuel will not be provided on site, and must be brought by each theme camp or participant.

  • Atomic Falls is a Leave No Trace event. This means that when you depart, you leave no foreign matter, significant environmental alterations, or other avoidable disturbance to our venue.

    • You must pack out all your trash. There will not be dumpsters available at the venue.

    • Your activities may not destroy or permanently alter the venue or its structures

    • Fire areas must be cleaned in such a way that they are no longer visible as fire areas.

    • All bodily waste, both human and animal, must go in the Porta Potties. While this is an outdoor event, human urine and feces as well as animal feces may not be left in the woods.

Dystopia

I understand that Atomic Falls is a simulated dystopian society, and I will make every effort to remain in theme to build this collaborative experience.

  • Wasteland costume is mandatory at Atomic Falls. To maintain a fully immersive wasteland experience, appropriate wasteland attire must be worn at all times outside your own personal sleeping area.

    • If you are not in wasteland attire during this event, our team will ask you to change to more appropriate attire. If you continue to violate this policy, you will be removed from the event. We strongly encourage you to research our costuming policy before purchasing a ticket and contact us prior to the event if you have questions.

  • Participation is crucial to the successful atmosphere we want to create. There is no “audience” at Atomic Falls. Try to remain as involved and interactive as possible with your fellow tribes-people. All participants are encouraged to work and play together to bring the camp to life.

  • Self-expression is a gift to your fellow wastelanders. We strongly encourage your creativity, artistic endeavors, and performances within the event theme.

  • Radical inclusion is a cornerstone of Atomic Falls. Friendly rivalries may exist between camps, but we are all here to experience a taste of the apocalypse together. There should be no needlessly exclusionary practices at this event. All are welcome to participate. Get to know your tribe!

Society

I understand that Atomic Falls is a society based on the common goal of creating a positive shared experience and respecting my fellow participants.

  • The Rangers are always on duty to help keep the event moving in a fun and safe direction. If the Rangers or any other member of the Event Staff  asks you to do (or not do) something, it is important that you follow these directions immediately. There will also always be an Event Coordinator (EC) on duty.

  • Be aware of your environment. Our venue provides us with a great deal of flexibility, which allows a wide variety of performances and sound camps. However, you may be asked to reduce your volume or modify the tone of a performance if deemed necessary by the Rangers, E.C., or Event Staff, to ensure the enjoyment of other camps

  • Immediacy builds atmosphere, participation, and enjoyment. We encourage you to try to remain in the moment at Atomic Falls. It also helps you develop the relationships with fellow wastelanders that make these events so rich and memorable.

  • Communal effort is the backbone of any immersive event like this. Your willingness to volunteer, perform, create art, and build networks that span outside our city is the foundation that allows us to build a strong community.

  • The act of freely gifting is encouraged between participants.  Trade and bartering are also very welcome in Atomic Falls.

  • This event takes place in a fictional dystopia, but it also exists in the context of a venue, a larger society, and a local community. Part of being civically-responsible citizens of Atomic Falls is having consideration for the event venue, the local residents, fellow participants, and all applicable state & federal laws.

The board reserves the right to alter or amend the Code of Conduct as circumstances require.

Notification of any changes to the Code of Conduct will be posted on the Atomic Falls website and on the Atomic Falls Facebook page.

You are responsible for adhering to the Code of Conduct

as it exists at the beginning of the event.
